Success in a Project: Dissolving Suspension of Domain and Email on a Google Workspace and Squarespace User

At Dreamsubmitting Web Services, we can be proud to be able to accept the most complicated technical challenges. A good example was for a client whose Gmail account had been suspended due to an error with their domain in Squarespace. The domain seems to exist on the Google side, but the client could neither update nor renew it through Squarespace, and this led to a suspension of multiple email accounts.

The whole issue was made more complicated by back-and-forth directing from the Squarespace and Google Workspace support teams, which didn’t, in a clear direction, say how the situation was going to be resolved. We took it over, solved the situation, and after three days of persistence, coordination, and troubleshooting, everything turned back to normal.

The Problem
It was their client’s Gmail, very important for the business since it had been suspended due to the failure of the client to renew its domain on Squarespace. However, upon their update attempt, Squarespace would no longer allow a change, although the domain was active on Google’s side.

With both companies’ support teams trying to shift the blame away from themselves, the whole ordeal resulted in not being able to solve the problem for days, leaving the client without an email.

Our Approach
We knew it was going to be a long haul and we would require lots of persistence, as well as proper communication with support teams in both companies. Here’s how we approach this:

Contacted Both Support Teams: We reached out to the Squarespace team with our questions concerning whether the domain had been renewed and if there were additional steps to reactivate the domain.

Contacted Google Workspace: We also made contact with Google Workspace support for verification on whether the domain was active or not. Eventually, contacting them about how to handle the conflicting information between the two services.

Both platforms directed the client to each other; it took continuous follow-ups and coordination to get the two support teams on the same page.

Renewed the Domain: Once we finally managed to get all the required steps from both parties and restored access to their emails, we guided the client in successfully renewing their domain.

The Result
Having coordinated for three days with Squarespace and Google Workspace, we were able to renew the client’s domain and get their Gmail accounts reactivated. The client’s business e-mails were back online and were not going to stop communication any further.
